2024 Spring and Fall Umpires
2024 General Umpire Information
Our umpire manual reviews, in detail, many of the rules, interpretations, and procedures associated with umpiring baseball games. This document will be updated regularly with new information. Please take the time to review it, especially if you ever run into a rule or play you don't understand.
Unless otherwise specified in the league rules, SLJL follows the NFHS baseball and softball rules. The current version of these rules can be found below:

2024 Umpire Assigning:
HorizonWebRef.com (HWR) will again be used as our central assigning hub for both baseball and softball umpires. We are willing to work with some umpires outside of Horizon if you have trouble accessing your account. Umpires will create an account, update availability, and be assigned games by league assignors through this site. Some games may be self-assigned, especially the developmental divisions. If you are new, once you apply and are approved for a position, I will email you instructions how to sign up with our association (#205840) in HWR.
